A WALK IN THE RAIN-II

I know not why people go crazy in the rain,
they say it eases out their heart's pain,
but the truth is simple and plain,
that the rain removes the heat not pain,
so people, start using your brains!

But I do enjoy this beauty the rain brings,
the way the drops form a ring,
I do not know whether I love the rain or not,
but I like the way this rain makes her trot,
as I get more time to view her beauty,
though I know not whether I love her truly....
She has mesmerized me for seven years,
I know not what happens to me when she is near,
I know not why I even look at her,
but it is difficult to keep my eyes off her,
I do not understand this confusion,
can anyone suggest a solution?

I love the way she tosses her long hair,
though she is not the fairest of the fair,
and then suddenly, she looks at me,
Stop the time, thee!!
she hides from me in sheer anger,
but the sight of her still lingers.

I envy those snails; at least they get your attention,
I did listen to you with due consideration,
I still remember each and every word you said,
I never knew that such a heavy price will have to be paid.

You do not know how much I wait for you,
every single day; just to catch a glimpse of you,
I never knew that I will yearn for a girl so much,
your mere presence brightens me up.

I finally gather the courage to talk to her,
expecting that she might placate me forever,
I admit my mistake as I get nervous,
and start walking with her as the rain gets more treacherous.

I have never seen her so still and shocked,
as if her beautiful lips have been locked,
she looks into my eyes and then away,
as her cheeks shine like a red ray.

I like the way the smile blossoms her face,
as those snails get tangled in a confused race,
I love the way her silken locks get blown away by the cool breeze,
as she slips into the conversation with a comforting ease.

I get to see the beauty of rain through her eyes,
she is not the kind to tell lies,
she is so honest and pure,
this is going to last , I will make sure.....

A WALK IN THE RAIN-I

Walking in the rain one day,
Thinking about what to say,
Dancing with the drops,I sing and sway,
as the heat turns out to be Rain God's prey.

All of a sudden, my eyes map a transfixed figure,
and my brain goes all haywire as destiny pulls the trigger,
All my friends leave me alone,
And I reply by an angry moan.

I watch the innocent snails to keep my mind at bay,
but he continues to watch me play,
I try to ignore him as best as I could,
but to no avail as he continues to look,
Lost completely; as the rain wets him,
ignorant of the fact that his friends laugh at him.

I try to hide from his sight,
but the experienced player knows where to find his light,
frustated and angry at him because of his stupid deeds,
I walk away as the pack of the snails lead.
 Seven years has gone by,
but he continues to play shy,
Calm and serene he always seems,
He is never going to talk by any means.

But he starts walking alongside me as the rain gets thunderous,
does not know that the girl walking with him is cantankerous,
The butterflies in my stomach begin playing,
and words from my mouth stop leaving,
as he says sorry for his mistakes,
and asks to forgive him whatever it takes.
It is difficult to stand his deep gaze,
his large black eyes seem a long maze.

The fire in the heart burns brighter,
But the mind becomes lighter,
I believe our dreams will never shatter,
and no one can stop our endless chatter.

As the clouds turn the ominous black,
And he says it is nature's prank,
I laugh as the lightening gets wilder,
And my anger gets milder.
It is this rain which bridges the gap between us,
which was wide as the doors of our hearts were shut,
Destiny wanted us to meet again and we met,
Let us see how long this is going to get....

My first poem after such a long time

As the earth bears the May heat,
people yearn for an early treat,
And the mighty sun keeps on unleashing its powers,
Come June, and here comes the showers,
A day or two of solitude passes,
And then again, the timid clouds part away to make way for the arrogant sun,
the twinkle goes from everyone's face,
as the sun continues to oppress us at a much faster pace.

Everyone's given up hope of a monsoon,
And alas, the clouds continue to play hide and seek,
Wait a minute, is that a peacock's screech?
"they say it senses the downpour as it comes out of its cocoon.

This time the clouds overpower the sun,
And the rain god finally defeats the solitary sun with his army of clouds,
And lo! and behold the beauty of the nature when it rains....
drops like diamond touching the parched earth,
the aroma of the earth as the drops nourish it,
the sweet sound of the downpour as it hits the ground,
the trees swaying gracefully in a cosmic dance,
And I watching all this, stand lonely in a trance.................
